This position has to interface on a daily basis with Design Engineering, Quality Engineering, Assembly, Service Engineering, Purchasing and Suppliers.
Activities include:
•Helping develop parts, sub-systems, and complete machines
•Working with designers on part design, including Dfx issues (Design for Manufacturablility, Assembly, Environment, Serviceability)
•Developing assembly processes during the design and Engineering Model build phases
•Developing and releasing tooling for production
•Developing and releasing module and product Bills of Material
•Developing and releasing final assembly processes and training operators
•Working with suppliers on part manufacturability issues
•Reviewing drawings and analyzing tolerance issues
•Reviewing inspection reports and determining follow-up actions
•Working to meet program cost, quality and schedule goals
•Using corrective action processes to solve and close-out problems
•Participating in FMECA and Lean activities
•Supporting pre-production and production build activities
•Supporting verification and validation testing
•Working with suppliers and assembly to qualify parts and processes “Critical to Quality” (CTQ) requirements
•Understanding and utilizing the computer systems (OTIS, SAP, etc)
•Fulfilling training requirements to stay up-to-date in all systems
